Sara Pidò is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Smart Eyewear Lab (SEL), a joint research center between Politecnico di Milano and EssilorLuxottica, where she contributes to the development of next-generation smart eyewear technologies. She is also affiliated with the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Laboratory (AIRLab), DEIB, Politecnico di Milano where she collaborates on research combining large language models (LLMs) and computer vision to advance multimodal AI systems.
She earned her M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 2019 and completed her Ph.D. cum laude in Data Analytics and Decision Science in 2023, with a dissertation focused on leveraging artificial intelligence and natural language processing methods to empower non-expert users in solving data science problems. She further advanced this research both as a visiting Ph.D. student and later as a Postdoctoral Associate at MIT’s Data to AI Lab, where she focused on democratizing machine learning for industrial applications, developing low-code pipelines and explainable AI (XAI) solutions using large language models.
