Andrea Simpsi

PhD Student —

Andrea Simpsi is a Ph.D. student at the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Laboratory (AIRLab) of Politecnico di Milano, DEIB, and currently works at the Smart Eyewear Lab (SEL), a joint research center between EssilorLuxottica and Politecnico di Milano, under the supervision of Prof. Matteo Matteucci. His research focuses on the development of neuromorphic systems that bypass conventional frame-based computer vision, enabling direct processing of event-driven data for low-latency, energy-efficient eye tracking.

His work lies at the intersection of neuromorphic sensing, real-time processing, and intelligent systems. His research interests also extend to other computer vision tasks based on non-conventional techniques.
