Agnese Chiatti is a Research Fellow at the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Lab (AIRLab) of the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering (DEIB). She has obtained a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the Knowledge Media Institute (the Open University, UK). Agnese holds a M.S. in Information Sciences and Technology (IST) from Pennsylvania State University and a M.S. in Industrial Engineering and Management from Politecnico di Torino. She joined Politecnico di Milano as a Visiting Fellow after winning the L’OrĂ©al-UNESCO “For Women in Science” Italy fellowship in 2022. In 2024, she received the EU Seal of Excellence for MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships and the Italian Ministry Funding for Young Researchers, becoming Principal Investigator for the “Redefining Field robot deployment through Neuro-symbolic visual sensemaking (ReFiNe)” project. Working with Prof.s Matteo Matteucci, Viola Schiaffonati and Sara Bernardini (University of Oxford), Agnese is exploring how to assess users’ trust and trustworthiness in Vision Language models through the use of graph knowledge representations, focusing on complex scenarios that require advanced visual reasoning capabilities.
Her research interests range across Neuro-symbolic AI, Computer Vision, Service and Field Robotics.
